My young friend: You asked me last night if we have no responsibility towards the recovery of the dogs in the hands of the spoilers. I will put this answer in writing so you will have it for many years to come.

Never be ashamed of what you believe and never falter when you are doing right.
It is better to walk this earth alone a free man, for just one day, in your beliefs, than to succumb to the slavery of those who believe they are in power, for a lifetime.

Remember if there is no life in the dog's eyes, there is no life in the human beside him.
Do not be fooled or swayed by any group or organization that will try to overwhelm you.
Be faithful to the dog that has been so faithful to us.

I leave you, as always, with a following thought.

There is an old fairy tale titled "The King Has no Clothes". In it, an entire town is afraid to speak the truth.
It takes but one voice, that of a child, and once the truth is out everyone becomes embarrassed by it.

What if the training methods and handling methods used by law enforcement and military for the K-9 teams was that way?
What if the very selection process by which the dogs where picked was flawed?
What if it had been that way for years and years and had become so distorted and useless that it was becoming painfully obvious in its ineffectivesness and liability?
What if in the beginning there were two camps, one strong and guarded and one weak and loose lipped?
What if just to be part of something the loose lipped, weak camp, formed their own breeding and training program?
What if it was accepted as the truth?

It is possible to go back to the beginning and see where everything has gone wrong.
This is exactly what politicians and whiners would do.
There is not time.

It is time to start breeding the true working dog.
It is time to not worry about how the weak and useless, decipher training methods and techniques.
It is time for those, who history will call elite, to move on to the goals that were set many years before.

We as breeders must remember we stand on the shoulders of giants who have gone before. We must not come down from those shoulders to lie on our bellies with those responsible for destroying our breed.
Nor must we knowingly give them access to our breeding stock, which will then enable them to continue in their hellish sport for many more years to come.
We must remember theirs is the touch of death when it comes to our beloved Germans Shepherds Dog.
