Dogs should not be thought of as one of societies disposable commodities, yet this is often the case.
Human beings are supposedly the more intelligent of the two. This seems to be the opposite in many cases.
Dog can be one of man's most faithful companions, never asking much in return. Not every household is suited to have a dog. It should not be criteria fitting the cliché "two children, a cat and a dog."
Dogs need attention, however, they should be allowed to remain a dog, not expected to do and become things, which they are incapable of. We should never perceive the dog to be human, nor should we attempt to treat the so-called "behavioural problems" with drugs. Rather, it is by continuous growth within a family that knows both it's and the dogs place, that stability can be maintained.
When treated with respect, a dog returns love and never-ending devotion. As a family protector, the dog does not have to be a vicious, unstable animal. We know a stable dog makes the finest protector, solid of nerves, swift and calculated, willing and able to defend against attack.
A dog is a companion and protector, not a babysitter. To leave small children alone with a dog or to the care of a dog, any dog, without adult supervision, is irresponsible.
