Often times our vocals, body language and misinterpretation or anticipation is what we are seeing not “flight”. Even the vocal tone in which we give a command can cause a reaction in a dog. It is our interaction to this reaction that is important. Movement causes the release of all stress, obedience relieves the stress of obstacles and obstacles relieve the stress of obedience. If we are the stress or our emotions are the signal, then what do we do? We should relax and move through it at an even pace, giving no credence to the point of stress keeping our vocals relaxed and our movement positive.
