Our Dogs-Our Crime 

These are one man's opinion, Mike McConnery, no more, no less.
.

Society has decided that the dog should pay for our crimes.
The crimes of misbreeding, mishandling and misfeeding of our dogs.
We are truly responsible for these things that have caused so much trouble yet we will not take responsibility for them.
We would much rather ban entire breeds than hold ourselves responsible.
Our show rings have, for so long, been responsible for giving ribbons to useless, brainless and unhealthy specimens shown by many for money. Yet neither will they accept responsibility.

The kennel clubs sanction these shows, where Pointers cannot point, water dogs; breeds such as Poodles are multicoloured and literally tortured with sprays and perfumes, all for vanity and money.

Have you ever thought about a dog that sees his world through scent being submerged in all the sprays and perfumes in these places?
It is inhumane, yet when those who boast of kennel club authority, sponsor these shows, it is deemed all right.
No! It is not all right.
We have damned our breeds into being less than shadows of themselves and then ban them for their problems.

We are a very sick lot, us humans.
We have fed our cattle and our sheep their own kind and now we are paying for this crime with "mad cow disease."
Yet have we learnt anything? No!
We now want our dogs to be vegetarians.
What will happen next?
Who knows, but it won't be our fault.
Our dogs will be damned again for our mistakes and we will remain blameless.

We need to speak out, loudly.
By appeasing this type of behavious we only make the aggressor more aggressive.
Ask yourselves this question.
What will they ban next?
