TEACHERS

Nothing of eternal importance is ever a singular incident. That in life, which is of importance, happens collectively. So it is with the topic of teacher or instructor. Today I received a call from an officer that is on a weeklong course to certify his dog in narcotics. His dog is he says finding everything, even things that certified dogs are passing. The instructor is finding fault in the fact that he uses no toy or ball and that he talks to his dog. THIS DOG IS SURPASSING ALL OTHERS AND FINDING DRUGS. This seems to be the problem. Why? Teachers are no longer teaching to enhance a student, they are very self absorbed. One has to be able to identify a true teacher from a self-absorbed creature. The first desires to throw open all doors before you, and applaud your freedom. The second only seeks to destroy your confidence and become a crutch. Never buy potatoes from a man with soft hands and groomed fingernails. He has no union with the soil nor knows not what he sells. When working with a true teacher pride is found in both student and instructor. Sometimes the student must ask WHY? Why do you say that? Why do you think that? If nothing else it makes the other have to not only think but reveal what knowledge they truly do possess. Lastly a teacher builds confidence, through his manner and his word. He does not hoard it. He distributes it. For his life is revealed through those he instructs. It is in that mirrored image he will face his truth.
