There is an old saying "You can’t throw a shovel full of crap into the fan of life and expect to get a face full of sugar back." For years there have been those people in the dog world that have downplayed our work and our methods. The chat boards were full of their diatribe as collectively they tried to bring credibility to themselves by spreading gossip and denying what we were saying. Mostly they said what we were doing was impossible. It could not be done. One rather well known fellow stated our direction to use the prong collar on two rings was stupid…he now shows on his site, I am told, the correct way is two rings. In the beginning they said no dog could be trained before one year of age. That no pup could do what we say they were capable of. We have 12 week old pups in the hands of officers and the public that are doing multiple deployments in bite work. They are indicating on different scents and they are doing hard surface tracking. You see we kept working while they were jerking around. They are limited by their own limitations and poor breeding methods. Through their chatter they hope to keep others trapped in their ignorance. They fail to realize what they call schutzhunde, is not. It is a very watered down version, created for a lesser people and a lesser dog. It still changes, becoming less demanding, so to accommodate those involved. In its beginning it was not a sport. It was a demanding code of ethics and abilities. Now it ensures poor quality lack of ethics and no ability. As the sport world continues to misuse this once national treasure and leave the killing fields of Germany where they have destroyed the dogs and the program. They put their sites on other countries and move along like a great white death. It is time now to put into writing that which we have proven to be true.
