A YOUNG SOLDIER
The other night a program on television showed an interview with a young soldier. The interviewer was asking about several incidents in which his fellow soldiers had been charged. One was for tossing a grenade into a dwelling after soldiers were under "Enemy Fire" and had been "Hit". It seems that women and children were in the place. "Why," the obviously irate interviewer asked, "Would you toss a grenade into a house where you did not know who all was inside"?
I would ask the same question, but I would put it in this way, "When you are under "Enemy" fire why would you just throw in one grenade? Perhaps you only had one grenade, but did you not have anything else that you could have used"? Another question was asked by the interviewer regarding the shooting of "Enemy" targets as they ran away.
I find it funny that no one questioned the shooting of Germans or Japanese that may have been running away. No one questioned that, because in those times people had common sense. They cared more about "Our Boys" than about the "Enemy". In fact anyone who backed up the enemy was rightly called a "Traitor".
You and I have watched as our soldiers have been charged again and again for those things which "War" brings about. If you think that they are doing a poor job then go over in their place and show them how it's done.
It is time that our leaders back up our soldiers and stop backing down against "Enemy Propaganda". If we are not being led then we are being misled and it is then time to come home. At any rate it is time to stop trying to "Charge" our soldiers "Charge" our enemies. Overrun them and destroy them………all of them. Make no mistake I am one who is for burning all of their crops, killing all of their livestock, destroying all of their homes and killing each and every one of them. In my opinion that is how to wage war, not giving in to a "Dress Code" set down so not to insult those who are our enemies. We back you boys………"Go get em".
