A WARRIOR'S HEART
Over the last few days I have had emails asking when my next article would go up. This morning early I had a phone call
from a young warrior asking me the same question. I told him that one would go up today. I have, because of the news this
morning out of Afghanistan and the talk on the radio regarding that news, decided to write for the boys.
We live in
times which seem to change daily. We have dogs that will protect us, but if they bite someone when performing that duty,
we can be charged. Our streets are unsafe; our neighborhoods once familiar havens are now crime infested. Why one asks
has this happened? The question, though seemingly simplistic in its context, is avoided in its answer. The reply is a
mirror of our collective souls. In seeking to build better lives we have forgotten how to look after ourselves. Now we
search for a hero, who will no doubt become a martyr. We have entrusted our dogs to those who have destroyed them.
When we see that the health and ability is gone in them we still condone the actions of those responsible by giving
their papers and registries credibility. It is almost like we are afraid to look at the truth. Sadly our families and
children have fallen under the rules and regulations of the same types of individuals.
This morning we hear that a
child was killed in Afghanistan by a soldier. I have news for you people. In war these things happen. It is, I think,
important to make it clear to the media and all of those that would make this incident into something it is not, that
we will not stand for it. To those who read about war in papers or speak about them in government, they leave very
different memories than to those who fight them. To those warriors, memories often become nightmares. It is imperative
that we do not add to those memories in any way but positive support. To those naive tree hugging individuals that
hesitate to face the truth, children, women, dogs, horses, birds, fish, men, boys, girls, trees, flowers and many
other life forms, will die in times of war. The answer is not to hide from it. The answer is to fight to win and to
get it done with. I know they are not all bad. I think though that those who say this statement should go and point the
bad ones out.
To those overseas I extent my deepest respect. When horror is a few feet away, decisions come quickly.
Pay no attention to those who make decisions in coffee shops through opinions based on weakness. You have been ordered to
fight. Fight well, fight hard. There are still good dogs as there are still good people. The time is coming for both to
come forward. Paul this editorial is in honor of your warrior's heart. May GOD Bless all of you young bold eagles and
may He damn those who would clip your wings.
