There is no other creature that is so tied to man as the dog is. Rich or poor, large or small through feast or famine the dog remains a faithful friend. The dog also serves as a living barometer to the state of man. As frightening as it may seem it is none the less the truth. The once strong healthy dog is rapidly deteriorating. Just as moral fibers are tested and frayed, the dogs condition mirrors this plight. We quickly place feel good escape pills into our mouths, and pop a few into our dogs. They once hunted lean at our sides across endless fields of plush grasses and abundant game. Now they sit obese as we share chips with them. The fight has been drugged and shamed out of us. In turn our dog's docile natures are surpassed only by their inability to jump higher than the couch. There perhaps has never been a time of greater need for our dogs than there is today. Unless of course it is tomorrow.

We are at war. I know it has not yet been declared but when half the world is burned because of a cartoon and we seem to become complacent to that fact. One can clearly see we are at war. We may find it is not enough to pop a "Doze off pill" and hide under the covers. We are I think in considerable trouble. You see to breed and handle good strong dogs, it takes good strong people. One can not exist without the other. Remember freedom of speech and expression? Remember how many have suffered and died to preserve it? A cartoon falls under that description.

It is time to put down the chips, throw out the pills, and get on the ball. We share one common fate with the dog. Let that fate be worthy of our ancestors and our children. By breeding strong we become strong; we have little time to waste.
