Who, why, what, where is the Dogman? There is, it seems, so much confusion regarding this elusive creature. Trainers, importers and exporters of dogs worldwide cringe at the mere mention of his name. Their eyes squint as the veins on their foreheads protrude beyond the reach of common sense. Is he a single voice in the wilderness? Is he a maverick or a mad man? Why does he not just show himself at the doggie shows and the sport meets around the nation? He is in all of those places. You just don't look close enough.

He is the elderly person walking with his old dog; the one you beep your horn at to hurry up across the intersection. He is the kid that walks his dog along country streams or busy fare ways. She is the widow that sits with her dog in memory of a simpler time. He is the soldier that dreams of running his hound across hills beneath a moonless night. He is there beside the breeds that are outlawed through ignorance and arrogance. He fights for common sense, not dollars and sense.

I guess what I am saying is that there is a little Dogman in us all. Don't let go of it. The dogs depend upon it. Without it the dog world will be left with the bullshit of wankers, not the magic of imagination. I write to maintain my stand; to encourage the Dogman inside of me, not to discourage the foolishness in others but to awaken the Dogman in you. It is not really necessary to search any farther than your own backyard. Perhaps that is why so very few want to keep so very many in the dark.

You have but one life. Use it to discover the truth and then never deny it. No matter how alone or how hopeless it may appear. The truth will not be defeated, nor shall you.

GOD Bless the beasts and children and may HE awaken the child in each of us. For it is that child that will realize the," King has no clothes," and will find the innocence of courage to proclaim it.
