Another Thanksgiving is upon us, and as we prepare to feast on turkey and gravy we should pause to remember. Remember what? Remember how lucky we really are. Remember our soldiers. Remember those who have no feast. Remember our politicians. Most of all though we should remember our GOD. All things make little sense if we don't.

I know some of you think my writing should be without my convictions regarding GOD. Still without those beliefs there would be no writing. I train men and dogs for some of life's most difficult tasks. I have seen both dogs and handlers leave for war zones. Young men and strong men. I have always supported them to the best of my ability and tried never to write anything which would seem to be unsupportive.

I have recently heard about a young Canadian soldier who is in a hospital wounded. As he lies there his government has seen fit to cancel his danger pay and to tax his pay. You have to love the tax collectors. This soldier, now broken, is of no value to his government. If it were only possible to send politicians to war, what a marvelous world this would be. I do not know the name of this young soldier, but I want to say Thanks. Thanks for standing watch. Thanks for your sacrifice. Thanks for showing us what politicians and tax collectors are really made of and what real Heros are made of as well. Now if we could ship those who really deserve to be in battle to those places, this really would be a day of Thanksgiving. To you politicians who have no morals or backbone……pay the boy. To you tax collectors, the Bible speaks on your trade and kind.
